There is another protest On Thursday, people protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and NRC (NRC) at Delhi's Turkman Gate were taken into custody by Delhi Police. The police had to take action when traffic jam started due to the people lying near Turkman Gate. During this time, the women present there were seen instigating the Delhi Police.

Earlier on Wednesday, several colleges of Delhi University protested against the CAA. In Ramjas College, students read the Preamble of the Constitution and lodged their protest. The organizers of the protest said in a complaining tone that Delhi Policemen were present on campus while the college administration prevented the students from protesting.

The allegations of the students, however, were denied by the police and stated that they were not present on the campus. An official of the college administration said that it would be necessary to get permission before organizing a protest on campus. In the year 2017, there was a conflict between student groups, in view of which permission has been made mandatory.

People also gathered outside Jama Masjid on Friday to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. This comes as a fresh protest as people gathered at the stairs of Jama Masjid after Friday prayers. Security around the area was increased. This is not the first time that people are protesting at Jama Masjid. Earlier on December 20, protest against CAA intensified at the masjid.
